Open Time Monthly Bidding-Section 8.F.1-5 … Open sequences for the month, after the bidline awards have been made, will be posted in each domicile for 72 hrs (better known as the 72 hour window). For example, if the bidline awards are final at 12:00 Noon CT on Tuesday, the 72 hr. window will open immediately thereafter and will close on Friday of that same week at 12 noon CT. In other words, 12:00 is considered as on time and 12:01 PM is too late. The 72 hr. window may be reduced to 48 hours, in unusual circumstances so long as the Company notifies the Union. Bids for monthly open time can be submitted via e-mail, the company’s RF system, or by phone if followed up in writing and will be awarded as soon as possible after the bidding window closes but no later than 12 Noon CT on the last day of the current bid period. Sequences will be awarded in seniority order and priority will be given to those who have bid for full trip sequences. Trip sequences can be split any way you choose, but will receive a lower priority for award. Under this system, it is possible for a junior flight attendant who bid for a full trip sequence, to be awarded the trip over a senior flight attendant who bid for only a portion of that same sequence.
Open Time Daily Bidding–Section 8.G.1-3… After the 72 hr window has ended, all remaining open time and any new open time that becomes available, will be posted in DECS. Bids for daily OT may be submitted via e-mail, the company’s RF system, or by phone if followed up in writing. Bids will close each day at 12:00 Noon CT. Bids will be processed and awarded no later than 18:00 CT each day. Sequences will be awarded each day in seniority order and priority will be given to those who have bid for full trip sequences. Trips sequences can be split but you may only split a sequence once and it must include either the beginning or the end of the original trip sequence. In other words, you cannot split the trip by selecting the flying in the middle of the original sequence.
You may bid for OT after 12:00 Noon CT, but the request will not be processed until after 12:00 Noon CT on the following day, and awarded no later than 18:00 CT.
Exception: You may submit a request for OT after 12:00 Noon CT today, but if the flying you are bidding for is scheduled to begin tomorrow, it will be awarded at the Company’s discretion only. You see, between 12:00 Noon and 18:00 each day, Swaps/Drops goes through the process of awarding OT submitted prior to Noon while the Reserve Desk is planning the Reserve assignments for the next day.
Personal Emergency (PE) Leave-Section 10.N.1 … Request for PEs can only be approved by the Crew Scheduling supervisor on duty or an In-flight Manager. Such requests can only be made less than 24 hours prior to your next scheduled report time or RAP. A PE is not an attendance occurrence nor is it a paid absence. You may convert a PE to a PVD no later than the 5th of the month following the month in which you took the PE. Please refer to Section 10 N.2 and 3 for a list of qualifying events for which a PE will be granted. PEs are processed on demand.
