If you are junior manned or extended during the month, your guarantee changes, as does your cancellation guarantee. You will once again be paid the greater of the minimum monthly guarantee (75 hrs.) your actual flight time for the month or 96% of the scheduled hours on your final bid award. The difference is that the scheduled hours on your final bid award will be adjusted and increased by the amount of hours added as a result of junior manning or extension. You will be paid at the premium rate of pay for all hours added as a result of a junior man or extension.
Example: You are awarded an 82-hour line. You are junior manned for 2 hours. You do not drop any flying, are not assigned any new flying and no flying cancels during the month. You will be paid the greater of:
75 hours (minimum guarantee)
Actual flying = 84 hours (82+2)
96% of 84 hours = 80.64 hours [(82+2)(.96)]
Since 84 hours is the greatest, this is what you will be paid. 2 of the 84 hours will be paid at the premium rate of pay.
Example: You are awarded an 82-hour line. You are junior manned for 2 hours. You do not drop any flying and are not assigned to any new flying during the month. However, 10 hours of flying cancels. You will be paid the greater of:
75 hours (minimum guarantee)
Actual flying = 74 hours (82+2-10)
96% of 84 hours = 80.64 hours [(82+2)(.96)}
Since 80.64 hours is the greatest, this is what you will be paid. 2 of the 80.64 hours will be at the premium rate of pay.
Example: You are awarded an 82-hour line. You are extended for 2 hours. You drop 2 hours flying and 5 hours flying cancels during the month. You are not assigned any new flying. You will be paid the greater of:
75 hours (minimum guarantee)
Actual flying = 77 hours (82+2-2-5)
96% of 82 hours = 78.72 hours [(82+2-2)(.96)]
Since 78.72 hours is the greatest, this is what you will be paid. 2 of the 78.72 hours will be at the premium rate of pay.
Example: You are awarded a 60-hour line. You are not assigned any new flying, you did not drop any hours and nothing canceled during the month. You are however, junior manned for 5 hours. You will be paid the greater of:
80 hours (minimum guarantee- 75 hrs. + 5 hrs. junior man time)
Actual flying = 65 hours (60+5)
96% of 65 hours = 62.4 hours [(60+5)(.96)]
Since the junior manning time is credited above guarantee, 80 hours is the greatest and this is what you will be paid. 5 of the 80 hours will be at the premium rate of pay.
